Buckingham Palace & Victoria Memorial & Changing the Guard


Buckingham Palace


The Palace is located between The Green Park, Hyde Park and St. James Park.

(The Green Park) If you walk to follow The Green Park, you will see the Buckingham Palace.


 Buckingham Palace is the Queen's official London residence and is used to receive and entertain guests on state, ceremonial and official occasions for the Royal Family. The palace was originally built in 1705 for the Duke of Buckingham.

Victoria Memorial

The Victoria Memorial is the golden statue of Queen Victoria which sits in fornt of Palace.



 
 

 




Changing the Guard Ceremony
 
The Changing the Guard ceremony takes place in the front of Buckingham Palace at 11:30 every day in summer, every other day in winter.







 
 

*Buckingham Palace guard change timing:

11:15 Guards,with bands, start arriving

• 11:30 Official start time

12:00 Guard change ceremony ends

December : 2nd - 4th - 6th - 8th - 10th - 12th - 14th - 16th - 18th - 20th - 22nd - 24th - 27th - 28th - 30th

The New Guard marched to the Palace from Wellington Barracks with a Guards band. The Old Guard hands over in a ceremony during which the sentries are changed and then erturns to barracks. The ceremony lasts about 45 minutes and is free to watch.
